The 3 All India Services recruited through UPSC Civil Services exam are Indian Forest Service (IFoS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Administrative Service (IAS). UPSC exams are conducted to recruit candidates for Group ‘A’ Civil Services such as Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Postal Service (IPoS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Trade Service (ITS), Indian Defense Accounts Service (IDAS), Indian Defense Estates Service (IDES), Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS), Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS), Indian Trade Service (ITS), Railway Protection Force (RPF), Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS), Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS), Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS), etc. The Group ‘B’ Civil Services recruitment done through the UPSC exams are the Pondicherry Police Service, the Pondicherry Civil Service, the Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service, DANIPS, and DANICS.
The UPSC Civil Services Age Limit for Indian Citizens is between 21 – 32 years. In the Civil Services examination, the general category aspirants will have 6 attempts. The UPSC Civil Services 2021 Preliminary Examination was conducted on 10th October 20201. It was supposed to be held on 27th June 2021. Due to Covid pandemic it got postponed. The UPSC Civil Service Exam Prelims 2022 will be held on 5th June 2022 and the UPSC Civil Services Exam Mains 2022 will be held on 16th September 2022. The marks scored in Prelims will not be counted for arriving at the final merit list. Only those who manage to score more than the cut-off declared by the UPSC for that particular year will be summoned for the next level of examination.
All candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs.100/- as application fee for the UPSC Civil Service Examination. Female candidates, physically handicapped candidates, candidates belonging to SC, ST are exempt from paying the fees. UPSC accepts only online applications for the civil services exam. To register for the UPSC Civil Service Examination, login to the UPSC official website. There are two parts for completion of the UPSC Online Registration process. Part I deals with filling up all the details and fetching a registration ID. The registration ID is a 11 digit number. You should also mention the exam for which you are taking the prelims, i.e., whether for the civil services, Indian forest service or both the exams during the UPSC Online Application Form filling.
UPSC Online Registration process Part II deals with the payment of exam fees, selection of exam centers, and uploading of the photo and signature images. The fees can be paid either through online or offline mode.
